Real Help for Dogs With Big Feelings and the Humans Who Love Them

If your dog’s behavior feels overwhelming, unpredictable, or just plain hard... you're in the right place.

Maybe you’ve got a dog who barks, lunges, bites, growls, or shuts down completely. Maybe they’ve recently been diagnosed with a medical condition that’s adding layers to an already tough situation. Or maybe you’ve been told your dog is “too much,” and now you’re feeling stuck and discouraged.

You know something’s not right, but no one seems to be looking at the whole picture.

That’s where we come in.

We work with all breeds, ages, and backgrounds; including dogs with unique challenges such as deafness, blindness, or medical conditions. And YES, we frequently successfully train and help large breeds, including Cane Corso, Mastiffs, Great Danes, Malinois, German Shepherds, Pit Bulls, etc.

Unlike basic obedience training, our behavior services focus on understanding the factors influencing your dog's behavior and how to address the behaviors longterm, without relying on temporary behavioral suppression techniques like shock, choke, or prong collars.

You can read about the distinction between traditional dog training and behavior consulting here.

Why Combine Behavior & Movement?

Because behavior doesn’t happen in a vacuum.
Pain, lameness, old injuries, or undiagnosed conditions often show up first as “bad behavior”, like reactivity, growling, biting, hyperactivity, anxiety, shutting down, or even training refusal.

In fact, research by veterinary behaviorist Dr. Daniel Mills has shown that 60–80% of dogs referred for behavior concerns have an underlying medical issue contributing to the problem. That’s a staggering number and a big reason why your dog’s behavior may not improve with training alone.

Most of our students come in thinking their dog’s behavior has nothing to do with physical health, but so far, around 90% have gone on to receive a medical diagnosis after their Integrated Behavior Assessment. Once their vet provided treatment, many finally saw real, meaningful changes in their dog’s behavior.

Most trainers look only at behavior. Most vets look only at structure. This service bridges the gap, so your dog isn’t falling through the cracks. Watch this clip of our very own Lauren Tsao, MS, CDBC, CPDT-KA, DDP discussing this topic to learn more.

These can be behavioral signs to investigate with us before you invest in just dog training:

  • Reactivity, fear, or aggression

  • Growling, biting, freezing, or snapping

  • “Stubborn” or avoidant of sits, downs, or recalls

  • Low energy, slow on stairs, or tires out quickly

  • Easily startled or overly sensitive to sound/touch (including thunderstorms)

  • Overreacts to dogs, people, or new situations

  • Resource guarding

  • Agitated after walks, in the evenings, or during cold weather

  • Hyper, mouthy, bark-y, or can’t settle

  • Potty training regression

  • Pulling on lead or difficulty learning to heel

  • Avoids the car, crate, or certain surfaces

  • Chewing or licking legs, joints, or paws

  • Current or past limping/injury (even if resolved)

  • Past training didn’t help much

  • Considering behavioral euthanasia

What’s an Integrated Behavior Assessment?

Every potential private student begins with a comprehensive Integrated Behavior Assessment with Lauren Tsao, our animal behaviorist (Master’s in Applied Animal Behavior & Welfare), Certified Dog Behavior Consultant (CDBC), Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA), and licensed Dynamic Dog Practitioner (DDP). This in-depth behavior consultation service is designed to explore what’s driving your dog’s behavior from both a behavioral and physical perspective.

This process is 100% virtual, so anyone anywhere in the world can benefit.

Eligibility for Private Training & Behavior Sessions

Once your assessment is complete (and you’ve received vet clearance if needed), you’ll be eligible to book private training and behavior modification sessions with us.

These sessions are intentionally limited each year, so we can give each student the focused support they deserve, including consistent follow-up and timely communication.

We offer one-on-one private sessions at $150/hour, available virtually worldwide or in-person at our quiet farm location in Braxton, MS, based on student preference. Discounted multi-session programs are also available for clients looking for more structured, ongoing support.

Already completed your assessment? Contact us here to schedule a private session.

Refund/Reschedule Policy: To provide a thorough assessment, all required videos and photos in the correct format, must be submitted at least 72 hours before your scheduled call (excluding holidays or business closures).

If materials are not received by the deadline, your appointment will need to be rescheduled and a $50 rescheduling fee will apply. This is because last-minute submissions don’t allow enough time for proper review and prevent us from offering that time slot to another client.

To ensure we’re making the best decisions for your dog, completion of the full assessment process, including video and photo review, is required before enrolling in our private training services. Without this step, we can’t accurately determine whether private training is an appropriate investment for your dog.

This service requires some basic technology skills. You’ll need to be able to take clear photos and videos with your phone and upload them using a secure link we provide. While we’re happy to offer light tech support, we ask that you’re willing and ready to participate fully in the video collection process. Lack of technology skills are not a valid reason for a refund.

All videos and photos must be captured in your dog’s familiar home environment and without a stranger present, so we can see the dog’s natural behavior. Because of this, we’re unable to collect the footage for you.

Refunds will not be issued if the full assessment cannot be completed due to missing, incomplete, or poor-quality video/photo submissions that don’t follow our provided filming guidelines. We’re here to help you get it right, so don’t hesitate to reach out if you’re unsure while filming.

Thank you for respecting the time and care we dedicate to each case. Submitting materials early and in the appropriate format ensures we can give your dog the attention they truly deserve.
