AKC Announces New Virtual Home Manners Titles

Dog Using Computer

The American Kennel Club announced their newest virtual title program called Virtual Home Manners today. This new title program fills a gap in their programs for dogs unable to attend in-person classes, either due to Covid-19 protocols, age, or health complications. According to AKC.org (2020), “The evaluation of a dog’s ability to perform ten home manners skills will be done by a video recording. Two levels of Home Manners will be offered – Virtual Home Manners Puppy (VHMP) and Virtual Home Manners Adult (VHMA). Dogs that pass the tests will be awarded these titles.” These new title assessments will be assessed by CGC Evaluators online and look at ten different manners skills, including doorbell manners, sit, down, lack of begging for food, and more.

To check out the full requirements for these titles, check out the AKC website here.

If you are looking for a CGC evaluator to view your video submission for the Virtual Home Manners titles, please contact us at our contact form and we will be happy to help you through the steps to earn this new exciting titles.
